I began my teaching career in 1998, having gained an MA(Cantab) from the University of Cambridge in History and a PGCE(Secondary) in History and Geography from the University of Leeds. I have been a teacher at the academy since 2002, and have held a number of roles within the academy, including, Head of History, Head of Year, Extended Services Co-ordinator and Lead Teacher for Teaching and Learning. I became Assistant Principal in 2013.
I am also a Specialist Leader of Education focusing on supporting the humanities departments and developing teaching and learning whole-school. I am an accredited facilitator for NPQML and NPQSL training programmes.
I have a genuine and deep passion for accelerating the learning of all students. Students have the right to expect nothing less than a good education, where they can make excellent progress and aspire to do great things. This passion has been a constant theme of my teaching, professional development and research since I trained.
