Y7 into Y8 MFL Options

Dear parent / carer

Currently your child has been studying both French and Spanish at Outwood Academy City Fields in order to have a foundation in both languages. As we move into Year 8, we would like to offer your child a choice of specialising in a single language. The choice that they make will determine which language they study in Year 8 and Year 9 and the language that they can choose to study for GCSE in Year 10-11.  

Your child will be making their decision in one of their MFL lessons this week. We would like to have your input in this process. Therefore, we would like you to speak to your child about this choice. Your child will be able to edit their google form response on the Year 7 Google Classroom until March 20th.

We must state, however, that we cannot guarantee which language your child will study as we will always prioritise your child’s best interests, where your child is most likely to succeed, and we must factor in class sizes and setting. Therefore, if your child has no preference of which language is studied, please choose this option to help facilitate this process.

Google Forms will need to be completed by March 20th.
