Dear Parent/Carer,
Firstly, a big thank you and well one to those students who have attended school today. We appreciate the weather has been hot and at times this is uncomfortable, however the resilience you've shown and engagement with the adaptations we have made in school is recognised and appreciated.
For those who have not attended today due to the weather, we are writing to encourage attendance in school tomorrow.
We have made a raft of adaptations in school to make the experience comfortable in the current conditions, these include:
- Amendments to expected uniform;
- Water available in an increased number of locations
- Increased ventilation from early in the morning to cool down rooms
- Movement of classes to classrooms which are cooler and have air conditioning
- Amendments to lessons to make these more accessible.
Sadly, too many children have remained off school today and this is disappointing.
Overnight, storms and rain are expected so this will likely make conditions cooler tomorrow. We hope to see students who were absent today returning tomorrow; any absence for weather conditions will be unauthorised.
