Dear Parent/Guardian
As some of you will be aware, our school has a number of children with medical conditions that make them exceptionally vulnerable to infectious diseases. One of the ways parents can protect their own family as well as their community is to vaccinate children against preventable conditions and in this case, against Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR).
The MMR vaccination is offered at 12 months and again at 40 months to and if your child’s health record indicates that they did not receive both doses when they were younger, the Immunisation team will soon be in direct contact with you. This will be an opportunity to consent for this missed vaccination as the School Immunisation Team will be coming to Outwood Academy City Fields on Tuesday 9th June 2026. We ask that you submit a form, even if you do not consent.
The MMR vaccine is safe and effective, offers lifelong protection and it is never too late to vaccinate your child because of the serious complications of these diseases.
